What's an
Angle Station?

Located on top of the mountain above Kennicott/McCarthy Alaska in the Wrangel St. Elias National Park, The Angle Station, operating from the late 1800's to early 1900's, was the first tram in history to make a turn.  The tram serviced the Bonanza Mineshaft, bringing ore down the mountain to the processing mill in the town of Kennicott.

The complex machinery at that time needed to allow a tram to make the 30 degree turn requierd a cabin to house a maitenence crew to oversee The Angle Station twenty-four hours a day

Today, The Historic Angle Station hosts multiple music festivals and weddings each summer, providing shuttles and also camping options and is open most weekends in the summer for coffee, tea, and light lunch.
